London based illustrator, Ben O’Brien a.k.a. ben the illustrator, started with crayons on furniture, moved onto biros on schoolbooks and now resides with pencils, paintbrushes, marker pens and a mouse. Influences are endless (nature, graffiti, comics, music, words, biscuits) and the portfolio is varied (characters, landscapes, cars, sandwiches) only one constant thread runs through Ben’s work he enjoys everything. It’s the boyhood-dream-thing 'Mum, when I grow up I want to draw for my job' - 'Ben, go and tidy your room'. He still hasn’t tidied his room, he’s been busy.
