Tegan Wakelin is a designer, illustrator and textile artist. Her work has glittered within Japanese ‘zines and sparkled across countless t-shirts; it has taken shape in hundreds of hand-stitched infant rabbits. Winding her way through Japan, she was moved by images of traditional Japanese mizuko (water babies), and incorporated their mournful visages into the cloudy vistas of her design work for her catwalk show at London Graduate Fashion week. Past works were influenced by Zombies, Pirates and Monkeys drawn by people who can’t draw. Her work has appeared in International Textiles magazine, Nest boutique - Nottingham, WGSN and her LeisureBear collection for Oxfam.
